My Son!!

I am SO excited!! Zach called me a few moments ago from Tannen's Magic Camp. Tonight was the final competition for the campers. He performed last Sunday and made top four. Tonight, the top four competed for Senior Stage. (The top four for Junior Stage also competed.) Zach closed the show and received a standing ovation!!! (One Junior Stage performer, Ruben, also received a standing ovation.) (Zach and Ruben were the only standing ovations!) I am SO happy for him!! He won't know until Saturday morning at the closing ceremonies how he placed. I told him that it really didn't matter - as long as he performed the way he wanted to and can live with himself. How the judges critique is really out of his control. Getting a standing ovation was great feedback!

But, it gets better!!! Zach got to perform his act during the afternoon for Darren Romeo!!!! Darren Romeo!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO happy for him!!!!! Darren is the up and coming BIG name in magic!! He won the stage competition at Tannen's when he was 14 (Zach won jr. Stage at 14) and now has a multi-million dollar contract and is sponsored by Sigfreid and Roy!!!!!! Zach and I went to see his stage show in Atlantic City last December. Darren provided free tickets for any campers who could get there to see his show. (Nice guy!!!!) This is the first year that Darren's been able to come to Tannen's in some time (due to his contracts). What a great surprise for Zach to have Darren there today and to be able to give him a private performance!! And, Darren LIKED it!!!!!! He understood the act and the timing and the music - he GOT IT!!!!! Having someone of Darren's caliber see Zach perform and to give him such good feedback is just mind-boggling!! I am SO happy for him!!!!
